Unwrap Linked Actions: Setup Guide

What are Linked Actions?

Linked Actions connects your project management tool (Jira, Asana, or Linear) to Unwrap, allowing you to create tickets directly from Unwrap Groups. When your team resolves an issue, Unwrap reports on the relative change in complaints related to the linked group, letting you know if your work solved the problem or if there's still more to address.

Why We Need These Permissions

Unwrap requires limited access to your project management tool to:

Create issues/tasks: Automatically create tickets from Unwrap Groups in your project management tool
Read workspace structure: See your projects, teams, and users so you can select where to create tickets and who to assign them to
Sync status: Read issue status so Unwrap can show whether linked work is in progress or complete

We request only the minimum scopes necessary. Unwrap does not delete any existing issues/tasks in your workspace.

How to Connect

ℹ Please note, Unwrap Admin permissions are required to connect with Jira, Asana, or Linear.

Step 1: Navigate to Organizations

Go to app.unwrap.ai/dashboard/organizations and select your Organization.

Step 2: Find the Connections Section

On the right side of the Organizations page, you'll see the Connections panel with options for Slack, Jira, Asana, and Linear.

Step 3: Click "+ Connect" for Your Platform

Click the + Connect button next to Jira, Asana, or Linear and follow the authentication prompts.

Jira

Connection Options: OAuth (recommended) or Service Account

Required Scopes:

Scope	What it allows
read:jira-work	View projects, issue types, and existing tickets to populate dropdowns and auto-link feedback to relevant backlog items
manage:jira-webhook	Fetch, register, refresh, and delete dynamically declared Jira webhooks.
write:jira-work	Create new issues from Unwrap feedback groups
read:jira-user	Display assignee options when creating tickets
read:me	Authenticate your connection
read:account	Verify which workspace to connect

Asana

Connection Method: OAuth

Required Scopes:

Basic project information	View, create, modify, delete	See your projects and existing tasks to auto-link feedback; create new tasks in the correct project
Basic task information	View, create, modify, delete	Read existing tasks for auto-linking; create new tasks from Unwrap groups; update task descriptions if feedback changes
Tags	View, create, modify	Apply relevant tags to created tasks
Teams	View only	Display team options when creating tasks
User profiles	View only	Show assignee options
Workspace information	View only	Connect to the correct workspace
Search your workspace	View only	Find existing projects to link tasks
Notifications for activity	View, create, modify, delete	Receive updates when linked tasks change status
OpenID Connect authentication	View only	Securely authenticate your connection

Linear

Connection Method: OAuth

Required Scopes:

Scope	What It Allows
Create issues for your workspace	Create tickets from Unwrap feedback groups
Read access to your workspace	View teams, projects, labels, and existing issues to populate options and auto-link feedback to relevant backlog items
Write access to your workspace	Update linked issue descriptions if feedback volume changes

Disconnecting

You can revoke Unwrap's access at any time from the Organizations page in Unwrap, or directly from your Jira/Asana/Linear admin settings.
